A Somali Bantu boy had his face painted at the IRC's refugee family fair in Seattle.

From Erin Crooks, IRC's AmeriCorps*VISTA and PR/Development Coordinator in Seattle, where a World Refugee Day celebration last month for refugees and neighbors included a fair with games and prizes, cotton candy and popcorn, a 'jumping castle,' and face painting:

Incorporating a family fair into our celebration made for a lot of additional work. But on the day of the event, watching these kids running around, laughing and smiling, when only months before we met them at the airport, scared and confused, made all the hard work worth it!
