The Washington Post's Craig Timberg recently traveled to Shabunda, in eastern Congo, where a house-to-house survey conducted by the IRC found that the children were dying from preventable disease in such numbers that more than half would not see their fifth birthdays. His story appeared on page one in Saturday's edition of the Post.
