Mobile AIDS program in northern Uganda
AN IRC volunteer counselor talks to a Karamojong in Northern Uganda about HIV/AIDS and testing. IRC counselors have been visiting the Karamojong since March 2005 as part of a novel approach in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS. Under the new method, counseling and testing for HIV are done at home instead of clinics to adapt to the Karimojong's nomadic way of life.

Every week, volunteers from the International Rescue Committee make a rigorous trip to the arid mountains and savannah of northwestern Uganda’s Karimoja region to talk with the nomadic cattle herders about the benefits of HIV testing and prevention. link
