Pakistan Earthquake - Maira Camp from the Road to Allai
Photo: Rafael Hermoso/International Rescue Committee

The earthquake destroyed many lives and homes and created tent villages such as Maira, run by the Pakistan army and served by several international organizations. The International Rescue Committee, at the request of UNICEF, has begun drilling the first of two wells to supply water to the growing population, now between 21,000 and 22,000.
